About

I've been at Elder Research since 2011 — with one summer at Intel in 2012 — working from software engineering into data engineering and then into technical leadership. Today I'm a Principal Data Engineer leading a client automation initiative and setting the frameworks and standards the rest of the team builds on.
The work I care most about sits where systems meet people: building architecture that stays simple as it scales, setting standards a team can actually follow, and training the next generation of engineers and technical leads. I grew our engineering team from 3 to 14 and helped two engineers step into management. The goal has always been the same: build systems, and teams, that can run without me and are ready to mature and adapt on their own.
I studied Computer Science at NC State University, finishing a B.S. in 2015 and an M.S. in 2017. I live with my wife and our two kids, and I collect hobbies faster than I finish them.
